The Business

Wavelength focuses on providing insurance to:

  • Ports, Terminals and Depots
  • General Container and Bulk Trades
  • Container Yards, Inland Clearance Centres, Transport Depots and Warehouses
  • Stevedores and other related Service Providers

The cover offered uses established market wordings for:

  • Third-Party Liability, including injury / damage to third-party persons and property, pollution and contractual liabilities. Extensions of cover, such as fines and duty, delay and wrongful delivery and infringement of personal rights, are also available.
  • Handling Equipment, for all risks of physical loss and damage including earthquake, tsunami, seaquake, volcanic eruption and windstorm.
  • Property, for all risks of physical loss and damage including impact, earthquake, tsunami, seaquake, volcanic eruption and windstorm.
  • Business Interruption, arising from loss of handling equipment or property, or from part blockage.
  • Port Craft, coverage for Hull and P&I risks on a part risks basis.
  • Terrorism

Limits and deductibles

The following limits of cover are available for each sections:

  • Liability risks up to a limit of US$50m each accident
  • Property, Handling Equipment and Business Interruption risks up to a combined single limit of US$100m each accident, but for California, Gulf of Mexico and Florida a CSL of US$50m each accident
  • Terrorism up to a limit of US$10m each accident

Property and Handling Equipment risks can be insured on either a total value basis or a first loss basis. Various deductible levels are available to meet insureds’ needs. Some insureds might decide to keep their insurance costs down by retaining more risk, such as by increasing deductibles, by introducing an aggregate retention or by taking on element of co-insurance. Wavelength can accommodate such requirements, so clients have the option to buy as much, or as little, insurance as they wish in the knowledge that CTC’s experienced claims handlers are available to help whenever the need arises.
